THE NEW TRIPOLI E. Braun
Although originally presented as a travelogue, and intended to portray a visitor's view of Tripoli and its surrounding regions, this work now provieds a fascinating insight into Italian-held Tripoli in the early years of the twentieth century. Of particular interest are the large number of photographs which, as a collection, represent a unique picture of daily life and customs of Tripoli's inhabitants in those days. these photographs allied to a narrative which concentrates upon traditional life among the varied races and tribes of the area, provide much valuable information, both for the general reader and the historian.
